Telling a young person how she/he comes to us

A local authority, (social worker or placement manager) tells us as much information about you, which we treat as confidential.

Our senior management then discuss this and take a decision. If we accept the referral, then we agree on a date you can come and have a look. Our assessment of whether or not we like to have you is done through what we call ‘matching’, so it is done in a non-discriminatory/oppressive way (in line with our police).

Much as we have agreed to have you, it is still entirely up to you to decide on vising if you really want to be her or not, and we have heard of instances where young people have told us why they did not take an alternative place they viewed, and that has been helpful in our taste for high quality accommodation.

We have it on our record that no young person has done a viewing in out placement and turned our offer down.
